At the centre of it all is Anita Dupree, who refuses to let her diagnosis steal her spirit. But while music, colour, and laughter fill the Dupree mansion, difficult conversations and life-changing decisions unfold behind closed doors.

Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) sets a mysterious plan in motion that brings her entire family together. She transforms the Dupree mansion into a lively Mardi Gras celebration, filling Fairmont Crest with culture, bold costumes, and New Orleans energy. The event is more than a party; it is Anita’s way of reclaiming joy and reminding her loved ones that she is still here, still strong, and still very much in charge.

Those close to her see the celebration as a moment of light during a dark chapter. Surrounded by family, Anita laughs, dances, and proves that a Dupree woman cannot be easily broken, even as she officially begins medical treatment.

While the mansion shines with colour, tension builds elsewhere. Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Kat (Colby Muhammed) find themselves locked in a growing argument that traces back to Kat’s refusal to get tested if Nicole is found to carry the BRCA gene. What started as a concern now turns into a deeper clash of values.

Their disagreement escalates in episode 5, with both women struggling to understand each other’s choices. Until the issue is resolved, their relationship remains strained, adding another emotional layer to an already heavy week.

Dani (Karla Mosley) continues to battle old habits and emotional reliance, but Andre (Sean Freeman) steps in at the right moment. In Thursday’s episode, Andre distracts Dani in a way that gently reminds her she no longer needs to lean on Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) for comfort.
