Fact check: Was Renee Nicole Good a habitual abuser? Here's the truth behind the viral claims about her alleged criminal past

Amid the ongoing investigation into the fatal killing of a 37-year-old, Renee Nicole Good, who was allegedly shot by an ICE agent during an ongoing operation in Minneapolis on January 7, multiple theories are surfacing. Among one of them, currently being discussed on social media and which has added fuel to the fire, is the past criminal record of Renee Good. According to various posts on X (formerly called Twitter), an alleged rap sheet of Good has sparked massive discussions. But how true is that? Let's do a fact-check.On Wednesday, Renee Nicole Good was killed during an ICE operation in Minneapolis after an agent opened fire, an incident that has provoked widespread anger and intense debate across the country. The officer involved was later identified as Jonathan Ross; however, officials earlier declined the release of his identity.

On the other hand, Ross's use of deadly force, while supporters of the agent say that Good attempted to strike him with her vehicle. Since the incident took place, the Donald Trump administration has moved quickly to justify the shooting, with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem describing Good as a "domestic terrorist" and insisting the agent, characterised as highly experienced, acted in line with his training.

Not only that, but as additional videos of the encounter surfaced, there were conflicting viewpoints that escalated the ongoing tensions. Further, a controversy arose after reports claimed that Good was involved with an 'ICE Watch' group and had received training on resisting federal authorities, which heightened the issue.Following the fatal shooting, a wave of inflammatory posts on X targeted Renee Good, portraying her as a habitual offender who repeatedly interfered with a federal investigation. Several users alleged that when ICE attempted to detain her, she tried to ram an agent with her vehicle, prompting the deadly response.

While others circulated what they claimed was her criminal record, listing accusations like parole violation, child abuse, assaulting police officers and more. A post on X read, "Abuser Renee Good was interfering with a federal investigation repeatedly. When ICE finally decided to detain her for it, she tried to murder one with her vehicle, which resulted in her catching some freedom seeds. There you have it."

While another read, "You idiots on the left really need to pick your martyrs better. Renee Good has one hell of a rap sheet including Child Endangerment and SEVERAL Battery of a Police Officer charges."As soon as the post surfaced on the platform, it quickly grabbed attention and sparked debate. One X user said, "This is false information. Please delete."

While another decoded, "This is AI modified. Her birthday is wrong. Her name is also not Nicole Renee. It is Renee Good. Please reform. I am reporting you for false information."

"She ain’t all that but ain’t nobody is talking about so I’m going to talk about it," one added.

One wrote, "Renee Nicole Good killed by ICE on Jan 7, 2026, was 37 (born 1988)."

According to Limitless News and as per multiple social media users, the claims and the rap sheets currently circulating around Renee are false, and there are various reasons for it. First, as seen in both the rap sheets, the year of birth of the individual is written as 1980, according to which the age of the person should be 45 years old at present, but Good was 37 when she lost her life in the fatal shooting.

Second, the criminal record circulating on social media appears to have been altered. In different versions, the listed age varies between 44 and 35, both of which are inaccurate.

Although the mugshot included in the posts may resemble Good, there is strong reason to believe it has been manipulated and that the record itself actually belongs to a different individual.
